Ichthyosis are a heterogeneous group of Hereditary and acquired disorders keratinization characterized by the presence visible scales on skin surface. The word is derived from Greek root for fish – icthys. There two major types ichthyosis that Congenital Acquired. vulgaris one among congenital most common with an estimated incidence rate 1 in 250 births, onset early childhood fine, whitish which often sheds off. severity symptoms can vary enormously mildest, such as vulgaris, up to life threatening condition Harlequin Ichthyosis. In general all has been identified rare disease National Organization Rare Disorders (NORD). currently no cure only symptomatic management done. Topical application treatment according modern medicine, should be used daily Ayurveda diseases have described under heading Kushta; again classified into Mahakushta Kshudrakushta. Ekakushta, Kshudrakushta having Dosa predominance Vata Kapha shares features more or less similar vulgaris. Ayurvedic aims at clearing Srotas providing internal external Snehana produced markable change case ichthyosis.
